As somebody who has played with OSRS gold for quite a while, I’m aware the runescape game was established as a PvP game where you could kill people everywhere. I remember if somebody came you would fight for the right to remain there and when you can duel everywhere. I recall when pirate hut (RSC) and axe hut (RS3) in the wilderness were the ideal combat xp speeds in the runescape game. I recall when sharks and super sets were BIS and realistcally had no use in the runescape game besides being a food for PKing (and possibly KBD?). I say the things to say, RS was built around PvP in its first days, and flourished because of PvP in RS2 days.
The META in RS3 is to max. There’s nothing else. Make a primary — maximum it. Start again using an iron max it. A single OS runescape player could have: a main, an ironman, a 1 def pure, a zerker pure, a range tank, a 60 attack piety pure, an obby mauler, a gmaul rusher, a mage rusher. That is 9 accounts for a single individual. And for a few youtubers, they have every one members and these accounts on all them! RS3 has such a significant dependence on MTX since it’s the only thing they can upsell to the runescape players they have. By releasing a PKing META, OSRS upsell a different membership.
The point that I’m making? Bring back multi level METAs. My personal taste to do this would be to change the battle system from the wilderness to once more be conducive to PKing (possibly revolution mode automatically turns on as you enter, bring back special attacks with KO potential, etc). Reinvent the jungle because a large risk (e.g a coin fall on death regardless of what you are wearing), higher reward place to train items to encourage PKers and non PKers alike to take that plunge. Close to the wilderness in the vast majority of worlds, leaving just certain ones available to push all of the wildy runescape gamers into one place. Reintroduce PvP worlds (could be attacked anywhere) with an XP increase for using them.
I appreciate that this is most likely not the most popular proposal, so perhaps there are different ways for example to create activities that have good rewards but are considerably more challenging at higher levels (making it better to perform at lower levels). The point is, give folks a reason to have several accounts, rather than aimlessly going to buy 2007 runescape gold for maximum each moment. OSRS has tens of thousands of videos on YouTube only.
